GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Provides management and directions in the design, procurement, construction and maintenance of facilities & parks funded project.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
Education, Training and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Management, Construction Management, or closely related field; supplemented by two (2) years’ experience in commercial construction management or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Experience with a state, county or local government is preferred.
Licenses and/or Certifications: Requires a valid driver’s license. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
Other Requirements
Physical Requirements: Must be able to operate various manual, electrical and gas-powered equipment and tools. Requires the ability to operate office equipment, to include computers, copy/fax machines and related peripherals. Must be able to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Must be able to traverse irregular or uneven terrain frequently. Requires prolonged periods of standing/walking. Requires the ability to position self for work in confined areas or work overhead. Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and scaffolding. Requires full range of body motion in manipulation of limbs and torso for operation of all terrain and/or 4x4 vehicles and inspection tasks. Must be able to work for sustained periods of exposure to outside atmospheric conditions. Physical demands are in excess of sedentary work.
Language Ability: Requires the ability to communicate effectively in English, including the ability to convey, record and exchange information; requires the ability to explain procedures and to give, receive and follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to read a variety of moderately complex technical data, policy and procedure manuals, codes, professional journals. Requires the ability to prepare forms and reports using prescribed formats, and adhering to all rules of grammar, spelling, diction and punctuation. Requires the ability to communicate with a broad array of individuals from various professional backgrounds.

EXAMPLES OF WORK
- Directs and monitors the work of contracted vendors; coordinates with dept staff to schedule and manage assigned projects.
- Prepares cost estimates and time schedules for construction projects; assists with development of five-year capital plan for annual budget.
- Reviews and interprets plans, specifications and facility blueprints; ensures compliance with design standards and specifications, county, state, and federal regulations.
- Serves as project manager to ensure project completion within established time frame and budget; meets regularly with internal departments, contractors and construction personnel regarding work progress, quality, and safety requirements.
- Coordinates procurements and reconciles vendor invoices to contract terms; verifies all work and requisite documentation has been completed prior to submitting for payment.
- Constructs, or assists with the construction of small capital projects occasionally.
- Moves, permits, and/or sets up equipment, trailers and small structures as needed.
- Communicates with internal and external stakeholders regarding product development & expansion projects; cultivates productive working relationships.
- Seeks grants, collaborative partnerships and other funding to implement projects initiatives.
- Occasionally operates ATV/UTV‘s to access undeveloped county properties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
