Position Title: Accountant
Reports To: Chief Finance Officer
Supervises: N/A
Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institution. Two (2) years experience in accounting/finance field. Knowledge of electronic computer systems and electronic office machines. Such alternatives to the above requirements as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts. Ability to apply advanced mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, sampling theory and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Other Skills: Proficient in function and use of computers, mainframe terminal and office machines. Knowledge of FEFP and Finance Department responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to independently complete assignment.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. Close vision is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Job Goal: To assist in processing and monitoring the fiscal affairs of the district efficiently, expeditiously and to the ultimate benefits of each student enrolled.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides accounting services essential to the preparation, administration, supervision and control of the budget.
2. Reconciles federal programs, state programs and bank statements as assigned.
3. Prepares federal, state and school board financial reports.
4. Monitors fund requirements for federal and state programs, prepares advance requests to meet these requirements.
5. Assists with payroll preparation as assigned.
6. Cooperates with other employees, auditors, etc., provides information as requested in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
7. Provided assistance to the chief Financial Officer in department tasks and functions.
8. Abides by and facilitates adherence to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures; maintains professional ethical standards; maintains high level of professional development/knowledge.
9. Other such duties as may be: (1) temporary and/or sporadically assigned by the supervisor and/or the Board, (2) permanently reassigned and specific changes noted and signed by the supervisor.
Length of Employment: Twelve months.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy and State laws.

Pay: $3,759.00 - $5,997.00 per month
