What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retread Technician – Full Time (4-Day Work Week!) position at OK Tire Store & Service?
Location: Fargo, ND
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:30am–3:30pm (Four 10-hour shifts)
Are you a hands-on worker who takes pride in producing high-quality results? We’re looking for a Retread Technician to join our team and assist with all stages of the tire retreading process. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, attention to detail, and being part of a fast-paced production environment.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll support the full retread production process, including:
Inspection & Preparation
Perform initial inspections on incoming casings
Ensure work orders are accurate and complete
Identify and reject non-retreadable tires per established quality standards
Buffing & Skiving
Buff tires to proper specifications
Mark correct tread sizes
Skive tires to required standards, including customer-specific requirements
Repair Work
Repair casings according to company and customer quality guidelines
Ensure repair values fall within approved thresholds
Meet all fleet account repair requirements
Extruding & Finishing
Fill and prepare tires for the next stage of the process
Ensure sidewall repairs and surface preparation are completed correctly
General Production Support
Assist with chamber operations as needed
Follow all company safety procedures, including PPE use
Report near-misses, incidents, and required documentation in a timely manner
Perform additional duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
Ability to lift 50–100 lbs frequently
Ability to read and write English to meet documentation and safety requirements
Comfortable working in a shop environment with dust and tire debris
High school diploma or equivalent required
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Schedule & Compensation
Full-time, Monday–Thursday (four 10-hour shifts)
Compensation depends on experience
