Refrigeration Technician

Albertville Plant I

1st Shift 6:00a- 2:30p

$21-28.50 BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Position Summary: Operates and maintains the ammonia refrigeration system:

• Repairs and maintains spiral freezers, air units, boilers, compressors, CO2 system, air pressure, chilled water and plant temperatures
• Troubleshoots inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment to detect root cause
  • Listens for unusual sounds
  • Feels for unusual vibration
  • Communicates with users regarding what was observed or smelled
• Dismantles inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment, installs new or repaired parts and reassembles the machinery or supporting equipment
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of the machinery and supporting equipment as part of the Preventative Maintenance Program
• Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment
• Monitors facility temperatures and makes adjustments as necessary
• Must be able to attain and maintain required certification for the HAZMAT entry team
• Must be able to attain and maintain a boiler license and complete document OSHA checks of internal boilers
• Other duties as assigned
