The Oak - Bartender

The Bartender is primarily responsible for the smooth functioning and service aspect of a full service bar in an elegant restaurant setting. The restaurants are a high volume dining outlet. The Bartender must have an exceptional working knowledge of alcoholic beverage offerings and the ability to create drinks according to guests’ requests. Requires an approachable, congenial, engaging personality and the ability to relate and converse with all types of people. Works cohesively with F&B team members to ensure a seamless guest experience.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum two (2) years experience as a Bartender in an upscale establishment.

2. Fluency in the English language.

3. Professional appearance and demeanor.

4. Thorough knowledge of proper service.

5. Excellent presentation and communication skills.

6. Exude a warm and sincere approach to guest service.

7. Enjoy working in a fast paced, sometimes noisy environment.

8. Ability to provide service efficiently while conveying a warm and friendly demeanor.

9. High energy, flexible and adaptable.

10. Ability to remember orders with accuracy.

11. Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.

12. Ability to exercise patience and diplomacy.

13. Ability to multitask.

14. Take initiative.

15. Ability to work without constant, direct supervision.
    
    

Desirable:

1. Designation from an accredited bartending school.

2. Experience in the hospitality/restaurant industry in a similar position.

3. TIPs certification.

4. Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.

5. CPR certification.

6. Previous guest relations training.
   
   

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the associate occupying this position.  Associates will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor. The Oak is a service bar, and no guest interaction is needed in this position.

1. Dispense, serve, and/or mix all beverages in a timely and efficient manner.

2. Organize and maintain wine selection and bar area.

3. Present cocktails, beer and wine drinks in an elegant manner.

4. Engage with and anticipate the needs of servers and management

5. Complete opening and closing side work as assigned and have all tables set according to standard.

6. Ensure cleanliness throughout the shift of  the bar and restaurant areas.
