We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team and maintain our robotics data backend and frontend. You will be using your experience with ETL tools and cloud services (AWS) for ingesting log files, maintaining DAGs, managing databases and building tools to deliver critical business insights across the organization.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Own and manage production-grade data ingestion pipelines, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance
- Design, build, and optimize ETL workflows to efficiently ingest and process high-volume robotics log data
- Maintain and enhance existing data pipelines, DAGs, and database systems to support real-time and batch processing
- Develop and integrate monitoring, alerting, and debugging tools to proactively identify and resolve data pipeline issues
- Build web-based analytics tools and visualizations to clearly communicate robotic performance and operational insights
- Aggregate and model data from multiple sources into a centralized data warehouse to support long-term storage and business intelligence
- Implement and uphold data lifecycle management, data quality standards, and software engineering best practices
- Partner cross-functionally with plant science, commercial, and operations teams to deliver data solutions for critical use cases

What we’re looking for in a Senior Data Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 6 years developing and operating scalable data platforms in production environments
- Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end data workflows, from ingestion through transformation and delivery
- Deep proficiency in Python and SQL, including code quality practices, testing, and performance tuning
- Practical experience with cloud-based data ecosystems such as AWS (S3, EC2, RDS, Redshift), Airflow, and PostgreSQL
- Comfortable working with high-volume datasets, including log or event-driven data (IoT or robotics data is a plus)
- Solid foundation in data modeling and warehouse architecture (e.g., Star, Snowflake schemas)
- Track record of creating or enhancing dashboards, analytics tools, or web-based data applications
- Working knowledge of containerization and development environments (Docker, Linux)
- Exposure to modern cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Redshift, or similar platforms
- Ability to drive projects independently from concept through deployment and ongoing support
