Job Overview
This position comes with fixed hours: every Friday and Saturday from 2pm-8pm.
We ask that you have at least 2 years previous experience as a sushi chef. We specifically need your help during the peak rush hours of the weekend, so speed is a must.
We are seeking a skilled Part-Time Sushi Chef to join our newly renovated sushi bar! In this role, you will craft authentic and visually stunning sushi dishes, ensuring each plate meets our high standards of quality and presentation.
Duties Include:
- Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls, and sushi-based appetizers. Which sushi dishes you create can be specified based on your experience or preference.
- Follow established recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality in every dish
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work station in compliance with food safety regulations
- You may or may not be asked to take part in food prep tasks including slicing fish and preparing sushi rice
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for restocking to management
Skills
- Strong knife skills for precise slicing of fish, vegetables, and other ingredients
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Proven skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation
- Being able to communicate and have fun with guests at the sushi bar is a plus
