We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with deep expertise in COBOL, DB2, and VSAM to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality mainframe solutions, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work on complex, large-scale applications in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe-based applications using COBOL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into efficient technical solutions.
• Optimize and tune DB2 queries and access paths for better performance.
• Perform batch and online processing, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Maintain documentation of system processes, program logic, and code changes.
• Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure quality best practices.
• Support migration, modernization, and integration initiatives for mainframe systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10 years of hands-on experience in mainframe application development.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Solid understanding of JCL, CICS, and IMS (preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong experience with batch processing and transaction processing systems.
• Proficiency in DB2 database design, SQL queries, and performance tuning.
• Experience with mainframe utilities (e.g., IDCAMS, SORT, File-Aid, Expeditor).
• Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
