What you’ll do:
- Plan and perform all required duties to inspect, salvage, and repair a variety of castings.
- Fabricate major repairs to castings when necessary, such as rebuilding flanges on EJB and EBM castings, repairing and rebuilding mis-drilled holes and any other welding processes to salvage a scrap casting.
- Set current, select proper rotor; select tip, adjust gas and oxygen pressures, and select rod. Exercise care in welding to obtain proper fusion of
- Make minor repairs including welding that can be brought to the weld booth. Clean, grind, drill, patch, sandblast and shotblast castings using hand and power tools as necessary to prepare for welding.
- Weld using electric arc, acetylene, along with heliair welding equipment as necessary following standard methods and procedures that have been developed in the Aluminum Foundry.
- Use hand and/or forklift truck to move castings and other materials as needed or directed.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- A minimum of one (1) year of Welding experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to read Blueprints. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Syracuse, NY will be considered.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 6 months to a year of Forklift experience
