At Ohly, we're seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Boyceville, Wisconsin.
The successful candidate will support facility power, controls, and automation systems used in the production of existing and new products at our Boyceville operation. They will be responsible for managing all facility electrical systems, including supporting future investment and upgrades of existing systems.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Remain current with technological developments in power, automation, and controls.
- Build and manage a database of all plant electrical and control equipment, networks, and logic to manage reliability and obsolescence.
- Be well-versed in all plant processes and control systems to provide support and troubleshooting as necessary.
Project Support:
- Manage production and support systems electrical and control hardware, systems software, programs, and networks for optimum reliability.
- Install, program, and repair devices and systems that are used to control, measure, and operate production processes.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve in the field of automation, measurement, and control technologies.
- Carry out systematic fault analyzes for repairs.
- Independently execute work according to specifications (maintenance plans).
- Improve and standardize the electrotechnical infrastructure.
- Be a team player with effective communication and inform team of extraordinary events or important circumstances.
- Ensure documentation is adequate, accurate, maintained, and managed.
- Create risk and hazard assessments for newly planned projects.
- Red line drawing changes, coordinate update process, and redistribution.
Innovation:
- Represent electrical, automation, and process controls with all future processes or projects.
- Maintain a relationship with Innovation colleagues within the enterprise and industry.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Optimize systems in cooperation with R&D, engineering, production, IT, and HSE.
- Create risk assessments and weak point analyzes in the context of general occupational safety, maintenance, and repair, as well as quality management for electrical engineering.
- Improve energy efficiency (ISO 50.001) and maintain product safety (our highest priority) while performing job duties.
- Assure compliance to Ohly Legal & Safety Procedures.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Attend educational workshops, review professional publications, establish personal networks, and participate in professional societies.
- Support and train maintenance and operations staff in automation systems to build skill set with maintaining and troubleshooting issues.
- Manage 3rd party contractors for engineering support, installs/modifications, and with systems or equipment maintenance.
- Assist with the implementation of new processes for the plant.
- Support technical needs of plant daily operations, as necessary.
Job Requirements:
Essential Skills & Knowledge:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 year's experience in industrial food plant processes.
- 3 - 5 years' experience working in an electrical engineering role.
- Independent working style and able to deal with and handle changing priorities.
- Critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgment, and decision-making, system analysis, adaptability, and monitoring skills.
- Creative, self-starter, and flexible.
- Production focus with a sound understanding of systems reliability and maintenance.
- Ability to work off normal schedule hours and weekends, when needed.
- Good communication, teamwork, and reporting skills.
Desirable Skills & Knowledge:
- Previous experiences managing electrical systems and equipment.
- Previous project management and production process support experience.
