What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech position at Ohio Valley Physicians?
JOB PURPOSE: The maintenance worker position, under supervision, performs work of routine maintenance; performs related work as assigned and in collaboration with other Maintenance staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works in collaboration with other maintenance staff to establish necessary task completion.
Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior.
Contacts and schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance.
Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due.
Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building.
Maintain outer premises by watering plants, mowing lawn, cleaning entrances
Utilize insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous pests
Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (cleaning floors, shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.)
Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Previous grounds experience preferred.
Ability to climb ladders and work from heights.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
TRAVEL:
This position may require some travel.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Work hours will be scheduled to accommodate a 24/7 inpatient facility if working at the Recovery Center. In an outpatient or corporate office facility, core hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Some weekends or evening hours may be necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in an inpatient, outpatient, or corporate facility environment. This role routinely uses standard equipment.
