Used Car Manager

The Used Car Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our pre-owned department with an inventory of under 50 vehicles. This role involves managing a small team of employees, ensuring effective inventory control, implementing pricing strategies, and maintaining strong customer relations. The manager also leads marketing efforts across various channels and ensures compliance with automotive regulations while providing training and support to staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage used car inventory to maintain optimal stock levels and variety
• Supervise sales team performance and provide leadership to achieve sales targets
• Develop and implement competitive pricing strategies based on market analysis
• Build and maintain customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business
• Oversee marketing campaigns through online listings, local advertising, and social media
• Ensure compliance with automotive regulations and company policies
• Provide staff training and development to enhance team capabilities
• Maintain lot appearance and vehicle presentation standards
• Coordinate vehicle acquisition to replenish inventory aligned with market demand
• Prepare sales performance and inventory reports for management review
• Stay current with industry websites like Manheim, Carfax, KBB, etc.
• Utilize DMS and CRM to maintain and promote sales.
• Test drive and evaluate all possible trade and acquisition vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years in automotive sales management
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in used car sales and pricing analysis
• Strong customer service and negotiation skills
• Proven team leadership and staff management abilities
• Knowledge of automotive compliance requirements
• Familiarity with marketing strategies, including online and local advertising
• Excellent communication skills
