Job Duties
The predominant work environment is the office in Berea; however, will be required to work weekly out of the Elmore and Hiram Maintenance Buildings; must be physically capable and sufficiently agile to perform a variety of field activities, which may require climbing, walking, running and lifting, visual and auditory observations. The work environment includes driving and field inspections during the day and night. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions, dirt, grease, dust, unpleasant odors, confined spaces and loud noises while working outdoors. Must be able to navigate construction work sites on foot. Some climbing of ladders or obstacles may be required. Required to travel throughout the distance of the Ohio Turnpike.

Job Duties
- Assists in the performance of infrastructure maintenance management, including material and ordering oversight, stockroom, fixed asset, small tool, and disposal management, recoverable work order administration, various administrative work and related activities of the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission.
- Provides oversight and coordination of employees and work practices assigned to the various clerical duties across the turnpike, including division storeroom employees and section clerks.
- Performs random audit checks of material and supply inventory records to ensure that proper procedures are being followed.
- Provides department support for the management of issues dealing with the physical inventory of the turnpike’s stock materials, fixed assets, small tools, and non-stock procurement methods.
- Maintains and develops electronic forms, documents and refines business application procedures related to inventory.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Engineer.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of inventory and asset management principles, techniques, procedures, criteria.
- Knowledge of inventory control; safety practices pertaining to operation of supplies, materials, machinery, and equipment.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to learn a business application system and understand how equipment records, work orders, and material issues are related.
- Handle sensitive inquiries from vendors, contactors, officials, customers and the general public.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and instructions.
- Gather, collate and classify information about data, people or things.
- Work independently with little or no supervision; accept responsibility and solve problems.
- Knowledge and proficiency of the current inventory control practice; agency purchasing, requisition and receiving procedures; Commission rules governing procurement, inventory, asset management, and all associated activities and records.
- Skill and knowledge in the use of a personal computer; ability to carry out detailed instructions; complete documentation and forms accurately.
- Assist in the update of the maintenance department’s procedures and operations that are related to inventory and asset management, including procurement, materials management, ordering, disposals, etc.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Three (3) years prior experience or training in inventory and storeroom operations or supply chain management required.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience with ordering, receiving, and management of materials and services for highway maintenance operations (or related).
- Must possess proficiency in the use of computer equipment and programs including business application software, Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel and Word.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio driver’s license.
