Registered Dietitian
Part time
MAIN FUNCTION:
Has an extensive knowledge of nutrition and weight management best practices that are scientifically proven, approved and safe for all. The dietitian is able to design and implement wellness programs related to nutrition and a healthy food environment. Other responsibilities include ability to counsel clients and complete comprehensive nutrition assessments for a wide variety of clients, challenges and conditions. The dietitian will also develop, market, and distribute nutrition related health education information as well as conduct nutrition lectures and food demonstrations.

REPORTS TO: Fitness and Wellness Manager
SUPERVISION: None
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or related field.
- Must be a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
- Pass Federal background check
- Fluent in the English language
- Legal to work in the United States
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:
Skilled communicator, results-oriented, organized, outgoing, friendly, compassionate, team oriented, articulate and strong knowledge of health and wellness coaching.
Master’s Degree in pertinent field of study and hold certifications for special populations through nationally accredited organizations.
Minimum of one year experience in Dietitian or Nutrition services.
POSITION EXPECTATIONS:
Applied
- Displays proficiency and functions as the center’s expert in dietitian and nutrition related subject matter
- Competent in conducting a comprehensive nutrition assessment
- Demonstrates the ability to create, execute, and modify a wellness program related to nutrition and a healthy food environment
- Proficient with conducting educational presentations and seminars on various nutrition related information as well as providing food demonstrations
- Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively teach and interact
with clients
- Committed to providing the best services possible by maintaining current certifications, attending
continuing education seminars, and reviewing industry literature.
Administrative
- Demonstrates competency in managing client scheduling, client contacts, and member tracking
software
- Maintain safe environment for members and clients of the Center.
- Maintain cleanliness of consultation area as well as food demonstration equipment and tools
General
- Proficient with all current facility policies and procedures and ensures all operations and practices
of the department satisfy those policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates a team approach by displaying the willingness to embrace a “facility first” attitude
and exceeding expectations in any way possible.
- Accepts constructive criticism/direction and effectively changes own performance.
- Able to lead by example in living a healthy lifestyle.
