Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to perform final inspection of precision machined components and conduct in-process line audits. The successful candidate will ensure products meet strict dimensional, visual, and functional specifications using precision measuring equipment and established quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform final inspection of precision machined components using micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, surface finish testers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Verify dimensional accuracy, surface finish, thread quality, and visual appearance against engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications.
- Conduct in-process line audits to monitor manufacturing processes and identify non-conformances early.
- Document inspection results, complete inspection reports, and maintain accurate quality records.
- Identify, quarantine, and properly document non-conforming material; support root-cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions accurately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and adhere to quality management system requirements (ISO 9001 preferred).
- Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams regarding inspection findings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in quality inspection of precision machined metal components (CNC machining, turning, milling, etc.).
- Strong proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, pin gauges, thread gauges, optical comparators, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and basic quality tools.
- Good computer skills (MS Office, data entry into quality systems).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–40 lbs as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
- CMM programming or operation experience.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
- Prior experience performing process audits or line audits.
