About the Organization

A growing post-acute and long-term care organization is seeking an experienced clinical executive to lead nursing and clinical operations across a multi-facility skilled nursing portfolio. The organization is committed to clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, operational performance, and compassionate resident-centered care.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Clinical Services is a senior executive leader responsible for the strategic oversight, development, and performance of all clinical operations across the organization’s skilled nursing facilities. This role partners closely with operations leadership, administrators, directors of nursing, medical providers, quality teams, and executive leadership to drive exceptional clinical outcomes, survey readiness, compliance, staff development, and quality performance.

The VP of Clinical Services will lead clinical initiatives that improve resident outcomes, strengthen nursing leadership, enhance reimbursement accuracy, reduce rehospitalizations, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and CMS requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Oversight

  • Provide executive oversight of nursing and clinical operations across all facilities.

  • Lead and mentor Directors of Nursing, Assistant Directors of Nursing, MDS leaders, and regional clinical teams.

  • Establish and implement clinical standards, protocols, and best practices.

  • Drive consistent delivery of high-quality resident care.

  • Develop system-wide clinical policies and procedures.

Quality & Regulatory Compliance

  • Maintain survey readiness across all buildings.

  • Lead preparation for state surveys, complaint investigations, and CMS compliance reviews.

  • Oversee Plans of Correction and follow-up action plans.

  • Monitor key clinical indicators including rehospitalization rates, falls, pressure injuries, infection prevention metrics, antipsychotic use, weight loss, and staffing performance.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.

Reimbursement & Clinical Documentation

  • Partner with MDS, reimbursement, and finance teams to optimize PDPM and Medicaid reimbursement.

  • Oversee clinical documentation integrity.

  • Improve case mix, skilled census capture, and payer performance.

  • Support clinical documentation audits and education.

Team Development

  • Build strong nursing leadership pipelines.

  • Develop training programs for DONs, unit managers, wound nurses, and clinical leaders.

  • Support recruitment, retention, and succession planning.

Qualifications
  • Active RN license required.

  • Minimum 3 years of senior clinical leadership experience in skilled nursing / long-term care.

  • Multi-site regional or corporate clinical oversight experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong CMS survey, PDPM, quality measure, and regulatory knowledge.

  • Demonstrated success improving clinical outcomes and star ratings.

Compensation

Competitive executive compensation package, bonus opportunity, and benefits.

Salary : $130,000 - $200,000
