Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Slitter Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team in the Steel industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of steel slitting equipment and processes. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced factory environment.

Sign on Bonus of $3000 ($1500 at 90 days of employment, $1500 at 6 months of employment) for experienced operators!

Retention Bonus of $5000 at 1 year of employment.

Job Duties:

• Operate slitting line equipment to process steel coils according to work orders and specifications
• Perform complete machine set-ups, changeovers, and adjustments prior to each production run as required
• Monitor production throughout the run to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency
• Perform associated operations including slitting, stacking, wrapping, weighing, and labeling as required
• Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure material meets customer and company standards
• Identify and report equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety hazards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standards
• Lead by example by following all safety procedures and promoting a strong safety culture
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to support production flow

Required Qualifications

• Prior slitting line experience is required
• Strong safety mindset with consistent adherence to safety procedures
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
• Ability to read work orders, measurements, and production documentation
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with manufacturing work
• Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts

Compensation

• Pay is based on experience and skill level
• We are open to discussing wage expectations with qualified candidates as part of the interview process

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
