Job Summary:
Ohio Northern University will employ students on a full-time basis during the summer to serve as Summer Conference Coordinators. Experience as a Resident Assistant or Head Resident is looked upon favorably but not a prerequisite for being a successful candidate for these positions. The expectation is that employment will begin approximately May 28, 2026 and end approximately August 4, 2025.
RENUMERATION
Each Summer Conference Coordinator will receive housing in university housing and receive a weekly salary which will be commensurate with university guidelines. Checks will be available via direct deposit on the pay schedule used for summer student payroll.
Principal Responsibilities
HALLS
- Keys checked, available, and in order for groups arriving on campus
- Check to see that halls are secure and all is in order when groups depart. Complete checklist, report, and facilitate repairs if needed
- Assist in reporting hall occupancy on a daily basis as changes occur over the duration of a camp or conference
- Assist groups with registration (University registration cards/group roster, keys, housing lists, etc.) Notify Security & McIntosh Info Desk of conference group housing assignment (with room numbers)
- Assist with any special signage that might be required in the Center or Halls
- Work closely with the conference leadership to provide services they may request or require
- Be familiar with the location, operation, and checkout procedure of equipment, groups, and supplies that may be requested
- Ensure adequate camper/conferee supervision of scheduled summer conference/group activities in McIntosh Center, Sports Center, and other locations
- Check and ensure that lifeguards and weight room supervisors are on duty at required times and that regulations are strictly enforced
- Enforce and abide by all University & Residence Hall policies and procedures
- Meet with the Director on a regular basis to discuss hall operation and maintenance
- Notify the Director of any room changes
- Assist with daily checks of all the common and public areas for safety, cleanliness, and proper operation, and report all deficiencies to the Director
- Assume on-call/evening duty responsibilities on a rotating basis, as assigned

- Record maintenance needs and equipment failures or needed repairs and ensure that these items are directed to the proper person/office
- Coordinate with and assist with programming for summer sessions, as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled as an ONU student
- Good academic standing
- MAKE NO OTHER EMPLOYMENT OBLIGATIONS in this respect without specific approval from the Director
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Director, including but not limited to desk work, facilities, technology, etc.
