Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst include but are not limited to:
- Completes daily, weekly, monthly and yearly tax responsibilities.
- Researches and analyzes tax reporting for the Office of Finance.
- Serves as liaison to IRS and State of Ohio to troubleshoot and resolve any tax reporting financial issues, questions and communications.
- Processes and remits daily tax payments to IRS and State of Ohio for Super Retailer and mobile cashing claims.
- Checks Electronic Federal Tax Payment System daily.
- Processes daily tax payments and completes annual filings via the Ohio Business Gateway.
- Files yearly tax reconciliations to State of Ohio and files yearly IRS taxes.
- Gathers data and prepares various tax forms including but not limited to IRS Forms 945, 1042, 1042-T and 1042-S.
- Completes W-9 distribution, verification and updates to prize winner information using the IRS TIN Matching Program.
- Gathers data and prepares W2G reports for deferred and one-time prize payments. Maintains duplicate W2G requests and processes changes, maintains records and coordinates with Office of IT for reissuance. Completes tax reconciliation for W2Gs. Works with Office of IT to confirm year-end W2G tax data accuracy and issuance to prize winners by January 31.
- Researches and analyzes complex financial information for Cashless Sales activity.
- Reviews vendor-provided transaction reports. Reconciles vendor remittances to OLC accounting records. Analyzes vendor-generated reports (including transaction volumes, player adoption rates, payment method trends) and assesses accuracy and completeness.
- Gathers and analyzes cashless sales data to create reports for internal/external stakeholders.
- Resolves cashless sales financial errors and notifies management of cashless issues. Serves as liaison to troubleshoot financial issues, questions and communications for cashless sales.
- Performs other financial and accounting duties.
- Assists in preparation of the commission report, Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and other miscellaneous accounting duties as needed.
- Assists Budget Manager with budget forecasting/trend analysis. Assists with budgets as needed. Serves as backup support for biennium budget submission.
- Performs other duties and works on special projects as directed.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 18 months experience or 18 months training in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
- Or completion of graduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 months experience or 6 months training in accounting &/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software.
- Or 12 months experience as Financial Analyst, 66562.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 months of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
