The Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA) is hiring a Senior Vice President of Advocacy to serve as our senior-most government relations executive and a strategic partner to the CEO.
As OHCA enters a new chapter of leadership—and with a new administration and General Assembly on the horizon—this executive role will lead our legislative strategy, elevate our influence, and advance a forward-looking public policy agenda across Ohio.

Role: Senior Vice President of Advocacy
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Location: Columbus, Ohio (regular Statehouse presence & statewide engagement)
Status: Full-Time | Exempt
Compensation: Competitive at the senior executive level for the Columbus market
Core Focus & Responsibilities:
* Serve as OHCA’s principal internal lobbyist and senior advocacy representative before the General Assembly, Governor’s Office, and state agencies.
* Direct and execute comprehensive government relations strategies in close partnership with the CEO, policy team, and Board leadership.
* Build durable, cross-party relationships with legislative leaders, staff, regulators, and administration officials.
* Represent OHCA in high-stakes policy discussions, coalitions, and stakeholder forums.
* Translate complex legislative and regulatory developments into clear, actionable strategy.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications:
* Experience: 12–15 years in government relations, legislative advocacy, or public policy, with proven success in a senior advocacy or chief lobbyist role.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (JD, MPA, MPH, etc.).
* Attributes: High integrity, strong executive presence, political maturity, and a reputation for relationship-driven advocacy. (Health care experience is helpful, but core advocacy leadership and judgment are paramount.)
