Summary: We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team at Ohio Gratings Inc. where we provide opportunities for growth, hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment, and an environment that encourages innovation. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools to produce precision parts with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, job shop setting. You’ll work with a range of machine tools, from CNC lathes to multi-axis CNC machining centers, and utilize advanced G-code programming, blueprint reading, and GD&T knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
- CNC Setup & Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines (lathes, mills) to complete precision machining tasks.
- Quality Control: Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, and gauges) to inspect parts, ensuring they meet rigorous specifications. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address any issues.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret complex blueprints, job travelers, and layouts, applying knowledge of GD&T to ensure proper machining and measurements.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to machine set-ups, production processes, and efficiency.
- Production Documentation: Maintain accurate records in EPICOR, tracking time, quantity, and scrap data for all assigned work orders.
- Machine Maintenance: Inspect and perform minor repairs on machinery to keep operations running smoothly.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools (lathes, mills).
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent time management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative work environment.
- Familiarity with EPICOR or similar ERP systems is a plus.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational or technical training in Machining Technology or CNC Machining preferred.
- Previous CNC machining experience in a job shop environment highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to work in a high-paced, hands-on environment with shifting priorities.
