Job Overview
The Account Payment Posting position is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of payments. This role involves managing accounts receivable, performing account reconciliations, and utilizing various accounting software to streamline financial operations. Duties
- Process and post payments accurately to customer accounts in a timely manner.
- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions and adjustments.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft for payment processing and reporting.
- Collaborate with the collections team to resolve discrepancies related to payments and outstanding invoices.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports in accordance with GAAP and SOX compliance standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to account balances and payment statuses.
- Perform data entry tasks with a focus on accuracy and efficiency using 10 key typing skills.
- Support medical billing processes by understanding CPT coding, ICD-10, and relevant medical terminology as needed.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, PeopleSoft) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, and corporate accounting practices.
- Familiarity with accounts receivable/payable processes and revenue cycle management.
- Excellent analytical skills for account analysis and financial reporting.
- Strong negotiation skills for resolving payment disputes or issues effectively.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in data entry tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively over the phone with good phone etiquette.
- Experience in public accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus.
- Understanding of financial services concepts including credit analysis and journal entries is beneficial.
