JOB DESCRIPTION
The Customer Service/Inside Sales Representative is responsible for managing inbound inquiries, preparing accurate quotations, supporting technical sales efforts, and proactively developing opportunities within assigned accounts. This role serves as a critical link between customers, engineering, procurement, and operations to ensure accurate pricing, technical alignment, and timely delivery. Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Field inbound inquiries for both custom-engineered and standard filtration products.
- Assess application requirements including material type, dimensional specifications, pressure ratings, flow rates, and performance criteria.
- Provide accurate product recommendations and technical clarification.
- Communicate with engineering and procurement to confirm pricing, sourcing constraints, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for quoting-related questions and product capabilities.
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations aligned with company margin targets.
- Present quotations to customers and clearly explain pricing, specifications, and lead times.
- Log all inquiries, communications, quotations, and opportunities in the CRM system.
- Proactively follow up on open quotes to advance opportunities through the sales pipeline.
- Track quote-to-order conversion metrics and record customer feedback to improve processes.
- Maintain clear pipeline visibility and provide updates to Sales Management.
- Identify upsell, cross-sell, and repeat-order opportunities within existing accounts.
- Assist in prospecting new OEM, distributor, and industrial customers through outbound outreach when appropriate.
- Support strategic growth initiatives, private-label opportunities, and custom product development efforts.
- Provide feedback on competitor pricing, emerging applications, and customer trends.
- Coordinate closely with engineering on custom product development and technical clarification.
- Communicate with procurement regarding material availability and cost impacts.
- Ensure accurate order handoff to Order Entry and Operations.
- Verify part numbers, pricing, and configuration details prior to release.
- Support continuous improvement of quoting processes and CRM usage.
- Follow and model all company safety policies and guidelines.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Working understanding of hydraulic systems, fluid power components, or industrial filtration applications preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, dimensional data, and application specifications.
- Ability to translate technical product features into clear customer benefits.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering Technology, Mechanical or Industrial Technology, Manufacturing/Operations, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- 2–5 years of inside sales, technical sales support, or customer service experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with hydraulic systems, industrial filtration, or fluid power products strongly preferred.
- Experience in small to mid-size manufacturing environments a plus.
- Familiarity with OEM and distribution sales channels preferred.
- Filtration industry experience a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
- Prolonged sitting and frequent computer use, including repetitive typing and data entry.
- Continuous telephone use for customer and internal communications.
- Frequent talking and hearing in person and via phone.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and movement throughout office, warehouse, and production areas.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Visual ability to read screens, technical drawings, specifications, and order documentation.

Pay: $46,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
