What You Will Do
- Install, maintain, and repair traffic signals, ITS equipment, highway lighting systems, and related electrical components; perform troubleshooting, inspections, and adjustments to ensure safe operation.
- Operate state vehicles, use tools, and repair equipment; perform utility locating, set up work‑zone traffic control, sign installation and maintenance, vegetation trimming, and general field maintenance tasks.
- Use computers and mobile devices to document work, complete inspections, update asset inventories, track materials, and maintain records using systems such as EIMS, ArcGIS, and other software.
- Conduct inspections of traffic signals and electrical devices under construction, assist with final acceptance checks, ensure contractor compliance with standards and plans, and communicate with the public and school officials during repairs or maintenance.
