Assists in performing helpdesk support (e.g., answering calls, troubleshoots software (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Kronos), hardware & communication problems involving District equipment). Provides support in performing system maintenance (e.g., assists in installing cables, performs minor printer & computer repairs). Responds to user inquiries & assists users in resolving software & hardware problems (e.g., corrects hardware malfunctions).
Performs hardware installations & upgrades. Unpacks, sets up & configures computers, monitors, printers, telephones & other networking equipment. Install, configure & upgrade software on personal computers. Troubleshoots software, hardware & communication problems with District equipment. Assists in installation & testing of local area network (LAN) cables & phone lines at remote locations.
Assists is gathering information of equipment inventory & software license inventory (e.g. reports from Fixed Assets). Performs data entry into inventory tracking software &/or Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
This is a temporary position in the Information Technology Department which assists & works under the guidance of the Network Administration Supervisor & permits exposure to the student's field of study &/or provides experience that is a useful addition to the student's education & meaningful preparation for future professional employment.
Students should be enrolled in college degree programs directly related to the IT field.
MUST BE ENROLLED IN A COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY PROGRAM AND IN GOOD ACADEMIC STANDING. (IT Field)
Must show proof of valid driver's license to operate state vehicle.
This position is unclassified per Section 124.11(A)(29).
