What You’ll Do
This position assesses the educational needs of inmates.
- Provides instruction and supervision of students in a regularly scheduled vocational program
- Conducts classroom sessions and on the job training assistance
- Plans and outlines necessary class objective
- Makes lesson plans
- Prepares and administers tests within the framework of the program
- Develops special methods of instruction for the vocational program in assigned teaching areas
- Gives individual instruction and encouragement to the trainee as needed
- Maintains records of vocational students on attendance, achievement, attitude and conduct
- May order supplies
- Issue and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies used in vocational program
- Work with other departments in the Institution as part of total team approach to the rehabilitation effort
- Performs other related duties as required
