- Works under direction and requires considerable knowledge of guidance and counseling or rehabilitation counseling
- Responsible for assessing the educational and /or vocational status of inmates or residents for appropriate placement in educational program to identification of realistic career options
- Provides individual and /or group counseling
- Provides career counselling services to students
- Assess students for interest and /or aptitude
- Provides clinics, classes, small groups, or individual sessions for career options
- Provides learning materials for students regarding career fields; develops career plan with students; develops a clear education plan to align with the career field
- Prepares and maintains records and files regarding students and counselling services
- Inputs information into the designated systems
- Provides guidance to school administration on types of career fields chosen by students
- Monitors and informs school administration regarding the education path of students
- Monitors and informs facility staff on students’ job training in consideration for employment inside facility
- Works collaboratively with stakeholders on reentry and outside education/employment opportunities for students
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
