Responsibilities
Under direction from the Data Systems Administrator, oversee all phases of project/sub-project management & governance within the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Information Technology Services (ITS) & Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS) section with responsibilities & activities that include organizations external to Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) & whose primary stakeholders are executive level:
- Manage the coordination & administration of projects & provide assistance to local courts, law enforcement agencies, ODPS, OSHP & the Department of Administrative Services Office of Information Technology (DAS-OIT);
- Assist in the development & implementation of policies & procedures pertaining to project & program management, agile methodologies, process analysis, standards & quality assurance measures & ensure their application throughout OSHP & LEADS;
- Establish guidelines for monitoring project compliance & plans (e.g., scope, timeline, cost, risk assessment, quality assurance, etc.);
- Monitor projects, review deliverables, make recommendations for modifications & resolve issues;
- Ensure successful completion of projects (i.e., contract & administrative closure) & serve as OSHP ITS & LEADS project representative;
- Provide project presentations & status updates; Act as liaison with ODPS sections, divisions, & other state agencies as required;
- Develop & update training plans for resources impacted by project implementations;
- Oversee & improve project processes (e.g., assigned workloads; team-building activities; document key business practices; work with assigned Divisions/Business Units/external entities to bridge functional & technical gaps with OSHP & LEADS; perform software piloting/testing);
- Research & respond to inquiries;
- Represent the Division/Section on committees, seminars & meetings;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
AND 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.
- Or successful completion of 2 yrs. post-secondary education majoring in business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health, with major being commensurate with project to be assigned;
AND 12 mos. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation).
- Or 12 mos. exp. as Project Manager 1, 63381 or IT Project Manager 1, 63384.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
