What You Will Do…
- Manages operation of Maumee State Forest & is responsible for administration of privately-owned fire protection area;
- Coordinates work performed in forest & supervises assigned staff;
- Manages, directs & assists with forest wildfire control & suppression program on state forest & private forest fire protection area;
- Performs a variety of administrative tasks & public relations duties;
- Provides expertise needed for policy revisions & management planning.
- Starting hourly pay of $29.34/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 3.5 years of service, with an end salary of $36.65/hr.
- There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service. For more details, refer to Pay Rate and Longevity Tables | Department of Administrative Services.
24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in forestry; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in forest management, to include forest fire control, firefighting, suppression techniques; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in budgeting & public relations; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques; valid driver’s license.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in forestry; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in forest management, to include forest fire control, firefighting, suppression techniques; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in budgeting & public relations; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques; valid driver’s license.
- Or 12 mos. exp. as Forest Manager 1, 22331.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
