- Oversees executive leadership projects and monitors all agency-wide projects overseen by the Strategic Implementation team;
- Performs, plans and oversees all phases of project management for activities & responsibilities resting across multiple offices within the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (i.e., DEW) and whose primary stakeholders are the Federal Government and DEW leadership;
- Provides project management and consultation for grant projects to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements;
- Manages & directs development & implementation of multiple technical &/or non-technical projects to assist DEW leadership in planning & controlling of initiatives that support DEW goals & strategies;
- Directs, implements, & monitors policy & ensures compliance;
- Oversees implementation schedule for agency projects;
- Manages &/or directs development & implementation of planning document(s);
- Provides reports to executive leadership.
- Evaluates & accepts/rejects project deliverables;
- Determines & mitigates risk to department;
- Determines & allocates resources within and between projects;
- Develops & directs project artifacts (e.g., to include statements of work, plans, objectives, milestones, & performance metrics);
- Monitors activities (i.e., planned to actual) & measures progress in accordance with established project management methodology;
- Coordinates assignment & engagement of resources including establishment of project objectives, milestones, & deliverables;
- Manages cross-functional resource teams & initiates pursuit of continuous quality improvement initiatives;
- Allocates resources & establishes project budgets;
- Tracks budget, actual expenditures & task-level performance against project plan.

- Content review process (e.g. mandated reports, conference proposals, department letters of support)
- Department-level projects including standard operating procedures
- Facilitates the RFP process with program offices and the Department’s sourcing office;
- Assists program offices in creating RFPs to ensure all federal and state requirements are included;
- Directs professional & technical staff in team environment;
- Manages issues & change (e.g., cost, scope, resources);
- Reports on project & team activities to senior management (e.g., project presentations, white papers, talking papers).
4 yrs. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation), with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g., specific human service program area, management information sciences, fiscal); 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.
- Or successful completion of 2 yrs. post-secondary education majoring in business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health, with major being commensurate with project to be assigned; 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects; 12 mos. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation).
- Or 12 mos. exp. as Project Manager 1, 63381 or IT Project Manager 1, 63384.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
