PURPOSE OF JOB: The Provider Liaison will build and manage relationships between healthcare organizations (like hospitals and provider practices) and external providers (physicians, clinics, facilities) to boost referrals, ensure service understanding, resolve issues, and drive business growth, often through sales calls, education, and market analysis. They act as a key communication bridge between OCH Healthcare system and provider offices, focusing on increasing business volume and patient access.
MISSION STATEMENT: The Community Relations Department exists to educate the community on health-related matters, including hospital and provider practice services, and general health information through marketing, public relations, and community relations efforts. The Department also provides support to the Hospital’s CEO in strategic planning, business development, grant and foundation departments, volunteer services, and provider recruitment/retention functions. Through these functions, Ohio County Healthcare will have an enhanced public image and position within our marketplace.

We will become “the neighbor of choice.” Key areas of focus include recruiting, helping retain, marketing, and supporting great caregivers, as well as promoting OCH services to increase utilization.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: A blend of office duties with significant field time requiring extensive regional travel to provider practices, clinics, and hospitals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Relationship Management: Meet with internal and external primary care providers, specialists, and practice administrators/staff to understand needs and build strong, long-term referral partnerships.
· Business Development: Promote the hospital and outpatient clinic services, specialties, and providers to community clinicians to drive patient volume and grow market share by conducting marketing calls, identifying market opportunities, and supporting strategic marketing goals for the organization.
· Communication: Serve as key liaison, ensuring clear, consistent communication between the healthcare system’s clinical teams and referring providers. Support the organization’s goal of increasing access to care by identifying or reporting any barriers in sending referrals into the OCH Healthcare system to help ensure timely resolution and appropriate follow-up communication.
· Market Intelligence: Stay informed about competitive activities and healthcare market changes. Coordinate with the Community Relations Department to formulate and carry out marketing plans based on market intelligence, including Provider Liaison analysis of the healthcare market, internal referral management reports, and external market data to determine outmigration trends and growth opportunities.
· Data and Reporting: Develop and utilize software to track interactions, monitor referral trends, and report on progress to the Director.
· Referral Pathways: Ensure all contact information for referring offices is accurate. Develop routine audit methodologies to maintain up-to-date referral contact information and communicate process changes as needed.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Healthcare Administration preferred, though significant experience in healthcare sales or clinical roles can substitute for higher education
