Job Summary
The Ohio CAT Service Technician will safely troubleshoot and repair general heavy equipment engines, drive-train components, electrical and hydraulic systems, and standard machine repair. Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, maintaining, overhauling, and rebuilding engines and heavy equipment components, as well as performing welding tasks.
Competencies
Lifting/Carrying 50 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling
Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines
Dexterity is Normal. Repetitive Motions involve Frequent movement that requires the hands, wrists, and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.

Competencies
- General technical service skills, mechanical aptitude, or experience with construction or power equipment are required; welding capabilities (MIG and Arc) and strong knowledge of DC electrical and machine/electronic systems are crucial. Must demonstrate the ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete manufacturers’ updates.
- Must be organized, self-motivated, and able to work without direct supervision and work flexible/Shift hours. Excellent verbal and written communication skills arerequired. Strong computer and software skills are a must.
- High school graduate minimum
- College and continued education in a technical field area plus.
- Two to three years ofexperience in construction or power equipment/diesel engine service, including rebuild and repair, is required.
