Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Non-Medical Transportation Driver to provide safe, reliable, and friendly transportation services for clients requiring assistance getting to and from day program. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, have experience assisting individuals with developmental disabilities, strong communication , plus have a commitment to safety & professionalism. This position is perfect for applicants who thrive on helping individuals with developmental disabilities and enjoy driving diverse vehicles.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles while maintaining proper supervision of individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility aids or luggage as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of assigned vehicles to ensure optimal operation
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation routes
- Communicate effectively with the agency and day programs to provide a positive experience and address any special needs or concerns
- Complete trip logs, vehicle inspections, and incident reports accurately and promptly
- Coordinate with supervisors to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs while managing route schedules
Skills
- Experience in providing services for Individuals with developmental disabilities
- Show characteristics in having patience, empathy, and professionalism
- Proven experience in driving roles with a strong safety record
- Familiarity with lifting techniques for assisting passengers
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues
- Strong driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and best practices
