Experienced special agents, forensic scientists, and other law enforcement experts staff BCI’s three main divisions: 1) Identification 2) Investigations and 3) Laboratory.
What You'll Do
The Ohio Attorney General's Office is currently seeking a public minded individual for Forensic Science Laboratory Technician 2 vacancy in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Section at the London location. This position will report to the lab every day.

What You'll Do
The Ohio Attorney General's Office is currently seeking a public minded individual for Forensic Science Laboratory Technician 2 vacancy in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Section at the London location. This position will report to the lab every day.
The duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
NIBIN
- Operates the Brass Trax/Matchpoint ( National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN)) system.
- Receives and manages evidence for entry into the NIBIN system.
- Makes firearms safe for laboratory staff to handle/examine.
- Performs cursory examination of cartridge case evidence to determine best evidence for NIBIN entry.
- Maintains all records relating to NIBIN (including casework documentation, data
- Issues NIBIN notifications/reports to Law Enforcement Agency regarding entries/results of searches (i.e. potential leads).
- Maintains a workflow in which firearms evidence is entered into NIBIN, and reported, following the ATF Minimum
- Maintains proficiency with NIBIN instrumentation and database evidence entry/correlations.
- Testifies in court on cases related to the examination of evidence.
- Other duties as assigned
