Seeking dedicated mental health professional to join Ohel's Perinatal and Early Childhood Mental Health team. The program promotes the wellness of young children, from birth to 5 years of age, by addressing the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and behavioral aspects of their development, preparing young children to thrive.
As a team member, the Mental Health Consultant will conduct training for Preventive Care and ACS staff and provide mental health consultation regarding children with behavioral and/or social emotional needs. The Mental Health Consultant will develop and maintain positive working partnerships with staff in Preventive Care Programs as directed by ACS. Responsibilities will include supporting preventive care staff with managing visits and holding multiple perspectives. Responsibilities may include supporting parents, conducting parenting groups, mental health screenings on parents and children and referring parents and children who need intervention beyond on-site consultation for additional services.
Masters level clinician with MSW, MHC, CAT degree or similar required. Limited permit or license is preferred. Three years of experience working with young children and families who have been involved with the child welfare system and prior training in working with trauma is required. Excellent salary, training, and supervision are provided in a fast paced, growth-oriented environment. This full-time position is based in Brooklyn with home visits as needed.
