Organizational Location: These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Processing Unit in Irving, Texas.

You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
  • Processing personnel actions and ensuring they are in compliance with laws, rules, and procedures.
  • Researching and interpreting personnel action and processing guidelines, regulations, and directives and providing human resources guidance on regulatory and legal requirements related to complex history corrections.
  • Provides consultation and technical assistance on complex personnel processing (history correction) issues.
  • Advising managers and human resources staff on personnel action regulations and procedures.
  • Reviewing position management systems and electronic official personnel files, conducting quality control, and certifying all personnel actions

Responsibilities:

As a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Processing Unit), GS-0201-13 you will perform the following duties:
  • Develop, plan, direct, and administer HROC's Processing Unit.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with ICE program offices and create, promote, and maintain a constructive and collaborative working environment.
  • Ensure employees within the Processing Section follow applicable laws and Office of Personal Management (OPM) regulations, as well as DHS, and ICE policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative and technical advice to staff, as necessary, for accomplishing the work of the Processing Section.
  • Advise management on the impact of changes to statutory or regulatory responsibilities and recommend appropriate action to reduce the impact on ICE program offices.
