Position Overview:The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of ground support equipment used in aviation operations. This includes vehicles, machinery, and support tools that ensure aircraft can be serviced safely and efficiently.Key Responsibilities:Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on GSE such as tugs, belt loaders, baggage tractors, GPU units, air conditioners, de-icing equipment, and hydraulic lifts.Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.Repair and replace defective parts including engines, transmissions, brakes, hoses, wiring, pumps, and alternators.Conduct functional tests to ensure equipment meets operational and safety standards.Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection records.Respond to equipment breakdowns on the ramp and provide quick, reliable repairs.Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and industry regulations.Assist in maintaining inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.Keep work areas clean, safe, and well organized.Collaborate with supervisors and other mechanics to prioritize work tasks.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational training preferred).Experience in diesel, gasoline, electrical, or hydraulic systems.Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical and electrical systems.Valid driver's license (CDL may be preferred depending on employer).Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Must pass background check and/or airport security clearance (SIDA badge).Skills & Competencies:Mechanical and electrical aptitudeStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamTime management and multitaskingAttention to detailSafety-focused mindset
