What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT & Systems Specialist position at Ohana Parking Systems?
Job Title: IT & Systems Specialist – Parking Technologies
Location: Honolulu, O‘ahu (Office-Based with occasional Field Support)
Pay Range: $57,833.78 - $65,649.28 per year
Type: Full-Time | Network & Systems | Aloha-Fueled
Are you the "Digital Backbone" we’ve been looking for?
Ohana Parking Systems is seeking a tech-savvy IT & Systems Specialist to serve as the central nervous system of our operations. While our Field Technicians are the "hands" of the company, you will be the "brains"—ensuring the servers, networks, and software behind our cutting-edge parking equipment are secure, updated, and talking to each other.
You will primarily work out of our Honolulu office, staging and testing equipment in "The Lab" before it hits the street. However, you aren’t afraid to grab a laptop and head into the field to assist with a complex install or troubleshoot a stubborn network issue.
What You'll Be Doing:
- The Lab Master (Staging & Config): You own the pre-deployment process. You will unbox, power up, update, and configure new parking computers, pay stations, and servers in our office to ensure they are plug-and-play ready for the Field Techs.
- Network & VOIP Wizardry: Configure IP addresses, subnets, and firewalls for parking equipment. You will also handle the setup of VOIP/SIP intercoms so customers can always reach help when they need it.
- Server & Security Management: Manage Windows Servers and virtual machines. You’ll handle routine updates, security patches, and database (SQL) backups to keep our client systems secure and compliant.
- Level 2 Field Support: When a problem stumps the Field Tech, you are the cavalry. You’ll provide remote support or, when necessary, deploy to the site to troubleshoot complex software or network failures.
- Documentation: Create and maintain network diagrams, IP spread sheets, and configuration guides so the team stays organized.
You Might Be the One If You:
- Speak "Network": You understand TCP/IP, VLANs, Switches, Routers, and VPNs. You know why an equipment piece might not be "pinging."
- Know the OS: You are comfortable navigating Windows Server environments, device drivers, and perhaps a little Linux.
- Are Methodical: You love a clean setup. You test things twice in the office so they don't fail in the field.
- Have a "Service First" Mindset: You are supporting our Field Techs and our Clients. You explain technical concepts clearly without being condescending.
- Are Adaptable: You prefer AC and a desk, but you’re willing to wear a safety vest and work on a parking island when the team needs you.
- Bonus Points: Experience with SQL databases, Access Control Systems, or CCTV networking.
What We Offer (The Ohana Package):
- Competitive Pay – Based on experience and technical certifications.
- Work-Life Balance – Consistent office hours with a stable schedule (Mon-Fri).
- 401(k) – Retirement program to help you plan for your future.
- Health & Wellness – Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Paid Time Off & Holidays – Time to recharge and enjoy the islands.
- Professional Development – Opportunities to earn certifications and train on proprietary parking software.
- Tight-Knit Culture – A supportive environment where your technical skills directly impact the success of the whole team.
Why This Role Rocks: You get the best of both worlds: the stability of an office environment with the excitement of real-world implementation. You aren’t just maintaining a corporate file server; you are configuring the systems that keep Hawai‘i moving.
