What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician position at Ohana Heating and Air?
Ohana Heating and Air Commercial is growing and we are looking to add a highly experienced Commercial HVAC/R Lead Service Technician to our team.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who knows commercial HVAC/R, can diagnose problems correctly, communicate professionally with customers, estimate repairs when needed, and help lead jobs from start to finish.
The right person should be confident working on commercial systems, able to think through problems in the field, and capable of representing the Ohana name with professionalism, honesty, and quality workmanship.
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a strong commercial HVAC/R technician who can handle service calls, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment replacement recommendations, and customer communication. This person should be able to work independently, make solid field decisions, and help support the growth of our commercial division.
The ideal candidate will have experience with:
- Commercial package units
- RTUs
- Split systems
- Heat pumps
- Gas furnaces
- Commercial Refrigeration
- Restaurant cold and hot sides
- Controls and low voltage troubleshooting
- Electrical diagnosis
- Refrigeration circuit diagnosis
- Preventive maintenance programs
- Commercial service agreements
- Repair estimates and replacement recommendations
- Communicating clearly with property managers, business owners, and general contractors
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC/R systems
- Perform commercial maintenance and service calls
- Identify issues correctly and provide practical repair solutions
- Write up clear notes, recommendations, and estimates
- Communicate professionally with customers
- Help maintain strong customer relationships
- Support commercial projects and service growth
- Assist with training and guiding other technicians when needed
- Represent Ohana with honesty, professionalism, and quality work
Requirements:
- Strong commercial HVAC service experience
- Ability to diagnose and repair without constant supervision
- EPA certification required
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Professional appearance and communication skills
- Ability to estimate repairs and make recommendations
- Leadership mindset
- Dependable, honest, and customer-focused
- Must take pride in doing the job right
Preferred but Not Required:
- Experience leading other technicians
- Experience quoting commercial repairs or replacements
- Experience with service agreements
- Experience working with property managers, restaurants, offices, retail buildings, churches, and light commercial buildings
- NATE certification or other HVAC certifications
