DESCRIPTION
Deck Crew Sub
Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks experienced Deck Crew sub for upcoming coverage opportunity (Thurs. 8/20 - Sat. 8/29) as we close City of Angels and open The Producers.
Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast-paced working environment. Stage crew experience is required and various other production skills are encouraged. Seeking candidates that are from Tri-State Area or New England.
Dates: Call times are typically 1.5 hours before each performance.
City of Angels
Training:
- Thurs. 8/20, 2pm & 8pm
- Fri. 8/21, 8pm
Coverage:
- Sat. 8/22: 2pm & 8pm
Producers
Tech Rehearsals: Mon. 8/24 - Weds. 8/26, Approx. Schedule 10:30am-11pm
Meals are provided during tech. We allow at least 30 mins. for Lunch & Dinner.
Previews:
- Thurs. 8/27: 2pm & 8pm
- Fri. 8/28: 8pm (Rehearsal 12pm-5pm)
- Sat. 8/29: 2pm & 8pm
Rate: $20/hr overtime over 40 hrs. Shared housing included.
Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):
- Possess flexibility and positive backstage demeanor working with actors and other crew.
- Run each performance (8 shows/week).
- Assist in rehearsals and load-in/strike as necessary.
- Assist Head Stage Carpenter with repairs or adjustments during the performance or between acts.
- Must be comfortable working at heights and able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Job requires ability to sit/stand for long periods of time, and bend, stoop, or kneel in execution of duties as assigned.
- Job requires ability to lift, carry, move necessary equipment up and down stairs in varied lighting conditions.
- Unconventional hours may be required.

Ogunquit Playhouse will now be offering Health insurance to all employees who are with the company for 120 consecutive days and work at least 30 hours weekly. Ogunquit Playhouse will cover 75% of employee’s company sponsored Health insurance premium. Dental and Vision insurance will also be available at the employee’s expense. Employees who work the Ogunquit Playhouse’s entire season will also accrue Earned Paid Leave up to 40 hours. Eligibility is based on the length of the contract. Shortening the length of that contract may affect eligibility.
