Overview
We are seeking a skilled Set-Up Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining progressive stamping machines to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The ideal candidate will have experience with progressive dies, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while supporting a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate progressive stamping machines according to production specifications.
- Install and align dies, punches, and tooling to ensure accurate machine performance.
- Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to maintain part quality.
- Monitor machine operation, troubleshoot issues, and perform minor repairs or adjustments as required.
- Ensure proper lubrication, cleanliness, and preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve technical or quality issues.
- Accurately document set-up parameters, production counts, and quality checks.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Train or assist junior operators when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training a plus.
- 2 years of experience as a machine operator, preferably in progressive stamping operations.
- Strong knowledge of tooling, dies, and machine set-up procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed.
- Strong knowledge of feeder bowels a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and ability to work with small precision parts.
- Tolerance for working in a manufacturing environment with noise and machinery.

Schedule:
- 10-hour shift, Monday to Thursday
Relocation:
- Must be able to relocate to Cheshire, CT 06410 prior to starting work (Required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
