OGR is seeking a Legislative Intern for Fall 2025 to support our team and gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of government relations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about the legislative process, policy advocacy, and the day-to-day operations of a leading lobbying firm.
As a Legislative Intern, you will collaborate closely with our team, assisting with a variety of tasks crucial to our advocacy efforts. Your responsibilities will include:
- Legislative Tracking & Research: Monitoring congressional hearings, legislative activity, and votes on a range of policy issues relevant to OGR's clients. Conducting research on specific legislation, policy proposals, and industry trends.
- Hearing Summaries: summarizing congressional hearings and markups.
- Briefing & Reporting: Assisting in the preparation and drafting of briefing materials, memos, and reports for clients on legislative developments and policy implications.
- Administrative Support: Providing support to the legislative team with day-to-day logistics, including scheduling assistance, organizing meetings, and managing communications.
- Client Support: Assisting with the coordination of client visits (virtual or in-person) and the preparation of related materials.
- Special Projects: Contributing to special projects as needed, which may include data compilation, presentation development, or new business research.
What We're Looking For:
- Current undergraduate student or recent graduate with a strong academic record, preferably in Political Science, Government, Public Policy or a related field.
- Strong interest in the legislative process, public policy, and government relations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive and able to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- A strong work ethic, and a collaborative team player mentality.
- United States Citizenship with appropriate documentation for employment is required.
Availability: We are looking for part-time or full-time candidates for the Fall 2025 semester. We are flexible and will work with selected candidates to accommodate academic schedules for an in-person experience with the opportunity for remote work on Fridays.
Compensation: This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $20.00 USD per hour.
