This role is pivotal in supporting and enhancing our firm's billing functions by ensuring clients and matters are set up accurately and timely. You will collaborate closely with Attorneys, Practice Assistants (PAs), Billing Team and clients to optimize revenue and enhance client satisfaction.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $58,000 and $87,000. In accordance with New York State’s Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York State position is between $52,720 and $79,080. In accordance with California’s amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $54,400 and $95,880. In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $60,800 and $91,200. In accordance with the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act, the expected salary range for this DC position is between $60,800 and $91,200. In accordance with Maryland’s Equal Pay for Equal Work-Wage Range Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Baltimore position is between $54,400 and $81,600. In accordance with Illinois Equal Pay Act Transparency Notice, the expected salary range for this Illinois position is between $60,800 and $91,200. In accordance with Massachusetts Frances Perkins Workplace Equity Act, the expected salary range for this Massachusetts position is between $63,920 and $95,880. In accordance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Minnesota position is between $54,400 and $81,600. In accordance with New Jersey Senate Bill 2310, the expected salary range for this New Jersey position is between $63,920 and $95,880. The expected salary range for this Cleveland position is between $52,720 and $79,080. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below. Essential Functions
- Matter Set Up: Contribute to the beginning-to-end matter lifecycle by accurately setting up clients and matters for billing in line with client-specific guidelines. This includes reviewing InTapp forms for accuracy, ensuring data flows efficiently into Aderant, mapping in Billblast and in various evendor websites for eBilled matters.
- Data Change Management: Process data changes to matters after set up has occurred. This includes, insurance information, bill groups, contact changes, formatting, and matter plans.
- Matters in Pending Status Management: Follow up on matters in review and resubmit status to avoid WIP build up on matters.
- Control Reports: When needed, analyze and correct items on various reports.
- Issue Resolution: Research and resolve escalated items.
- Team Collaboration: Act as back up for team members out of office or when SLAs are not being met.
- Effective Communication: Respond promptly, courteously, and professionally to inquiries within shared and personal mailbox.
- Policy & Procedure Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to established matter information policies and procedures.
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimum of 1 years in legal billing or matter set up. 3 years preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (formulas, pivot tables and filters).
- Working knowledge of Aderant, including bill groups, matter plans, formatting, and insurance related matters.
- Experience with Billblast and electronic billing systems such as, Legal Tracker, LegalX, Collaborati, and TyMetrix, etc.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication abilities and maintains a professional demeanor.
- Workload Management: Capable of prioritizing tasks efficiently and adapting to a fast-paced environment.
- Self-Motivation: A highly motivated self-starter who excels with minimal supervision and takes a proactive approach in team settings.
- Organizational Skills: Exhibits exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Initiative and Judgment: Takes initiative, exercises good judgment, and demonstrates excellent follow-up skills.
- Problem Solving: The ability to apply a logical thought process to unique and varied requests and determine the next step using best practice protocol within a legal billing environment.
