Compensation: Hourly: $16.50 - $18.50 depending on experience
Ogle County is seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong accounting and communication skills. Join our team as a full-time Deputy Collector and play a vital role in managing tax collection and daily financial operations for the county. The Deputy Collector is a permanent position that requires a thirty-five-hour week and is under the direct supervision of the Ogle County Treasurer. This position will be paid hourly range from: $16.50 - $18.50 depending on experience. This position will require a great deal of multitasking along with thorough knowledge of the property tax cycle, mobile home tax collection, bookkeeping and fund accounting.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assists in the collection of the County tax funds.
- Responsible for the distribution of the County tax funds collected
- Prepares forms and monitors the State Senior Deferral Tax Program
- Assists in preparing and monitoring of court tax cases
- Assists with preparation and reconciliation of the annual delinquent tax sale
- Monitors and processes various State/Federal Agency Requirements & Certifications
- Maintains the Personal Property Replacement Tax Fund
- Prepares and files various State invoice vouchers
- Coordinates with various County Departments for interdepartmental functions
- Monitors postage and billing for various departments
- Assists with bank account reconciliation
- Prepares and balances payroll in the absence of the Chief Deputy Treasurer
- Assists the Treasurer and Chief Deputy Treasurer as needed
