About Us:
Ogilive Electric is a prominent second generation residential new construction electrical company based in Apex and covers the entire Raleigh-Durham area. We specialize in new construction installation for Builders and GC’s and are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced QuickBooks Bookkeeper/Job estimator to help manage our financial records and assist with estimating new jobs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in bookkeeping and estimating to contribute to the success of a rapidly growing company.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, reconcile, and balance company accounts regularly within QuickBooks
- Track and record expenses, including project costs, vendor payments and coding daily transactions.
- Generate and send invoices to clients, ensuring timely payments
- Log and track auto/vehicle logs, registration and insurance
- Generate month-end, quarterly and year-end reports
- Maintain financial records and ensure proper documentation is kept for auditing purposes
- Review plans, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Perform takeoffs of wiring, conduit, devices, lighting, switchgear, panels, and other electrical components using digital tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Conest, Trimble Accubid, or PlanSwift).
- Calculate labor costs based on manpower, productivity factors, and project conditions.
- Obtain and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes for materials and specialty systems.
- Prepare detailed proposals and bid packages, ensuring pricing accuracy and alignment with project scope.
- Maintain an updated database of unit costs, labor rates, and historical project data for future estimates.
- Support project managers with budget tracking, cost-to-complete reports, and change order pricing.
- Collaborate with field supervisors and project management teams to verify actual costs and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (required)
- Experience in bookkeeping preferably within the construction industry
- Estimating experience preferred
- Experience managing accounts payable and receivable
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
