What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nail Tech Instructor (PT) position at Ogden-Weber Technical College?
1. Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean and productive learning environment.
2. Administer and correct tests; annotate progress on students tracking records.
3. Advance the retention of students in support of achieving program membership hour goals.
4. Assist students with job placement and applicable industry or state certifications/licenses in support of meeting program placement and certification goals.
5. Develop annual professional development plan and participate in professional development activities.
6. Motivate and advise students in the areas of appropriate work behavior, training, or study habits. Assist counselors, supervisor, and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training.
7. Encourage and exemplify professionalism and good work habits.
8. Support programmatic and College marketing activities.
9. Work cooperatively within the College community.
10. Control the use of equipment and supplies; recommend purchases.
11. The incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Current Nail license required. Preference will be given to those individuals who hold a Nail Tech instructor license.
3. Minimum of one year of documented practical nail experience or required on the job training to obtain instructor license.
4. Preference will be given to those individuals who have salon/teaching experience.
5. Familiar with Microsoft word, email and can operate a Windows-based personal computer.
6. Spanish-speaking proficiency desirable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand long periods, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 20 lbs.) when doing inventory or receiving supplies.
2. Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., clippers, cleaning Chemicals, etc.
WORKING HOURS:
Class hours are Monday–Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The schedule will consist of up to 29 hours per week, including a combination of daytime and evening hours.
CONDITIONAL OFFER:
