## Position Summary
The Industrial Automation Instructor will be assigned to instruct students enrolled in the Ogden-Weber Technical College's (OWTC) Industrial Automation Program and the Manufacturing Technician Program. The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical instruction in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automated manufacturing systems. These systems include electronics, industrial electrical systems, motor control, pneumatics, hydraulics instrumentation, programmable logic controllers (PLC), robotics, and human machine interface technology. The incumbent works under the direction of the Industrial Automation Program Coordinator and will work closely with other program faculty members to support student success measures of completion, placement, and licensure.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining verification of student competency completion and other student records. The incumbent will work closely with the Program Coordinator in maintaining curriculum and other activities in support of programmatic and student success.

## Essential Functions
- Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean, and productive learning environment; maintain student records to include verification of attendance and completion of competencies.
- Meet programmatic and accrediting body goals for student completion, placement, and licensure.
- Advise students in the areas of program and college expectations, appropriate work behavior, and dress standards. Assist counselors, administration, and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student success.
- Assist the program coordinator with maintaining program assets.
- Work closely with the program coordinator to improve curriculum and instructional methodologies to increase student success.
- Complete assignments within established timelines.
- Attend programmatic team meetings.
- Work cooperatively with the college community and with all college stakeholders. Represent the college community in a professional manner.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education And Experience Requirements
- Minimum of four years of a combination of related work experience and post-secondary education in industrial automation maintenance to include a minimum of two years of work experience as an industrial automation technician/mechanic.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications as well as other computer software applications.
- Preference will be given to those individuals that have teaching and curriculum development experience.
- Preference will be given to those individuals who have completed a post-secondary Industrial Automation program and/or an associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Spanish-speaking proficiency desirable.
- Work requires physical exertion. Will require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for extended periods of time.
- Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, etc.
