What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Worker - FSS Coordinator position at Ogden Housing Authority?
The Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator oversees a voluntary case management based program that promotes economic self-sufficiency to approximately 30 - 40 families on the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. These families participate in an individualized case management plan to work toward self sufficiency. Responsibilities include:
Working with each client to define goals for successful program completion that are clear, measurable and have a time frame. Goals include employment, training, budgeting, and education, etc.; Conducts annual recertification reviews for housing subsiday according to both HUD regulations and the agency administrative plan; Assists in the application of renewal grants to insure funding of this position and to continue the self-sufficiency program; Accurately maintain escrow balances including monthly reconciliation with accounting and housing management, regular notification to residents, monthly reports and annual notification to tenants; Complete and maintain well organized case files which accurately reflect services provided. Complete paperwork, reports and case notes accurately and on a timely basis; Attend and assist in the coordination of the quarterly FSS Council meeting and proactively meet with appropriate community agencies within the community to improve services for clients. This position is based on an annual grant award from HUD. Position opened until filled.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Associates degree in social work or two (2) years equivalent work experience in social work in related field if not degreed. Computer literate and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated proactive stance in case management.
