- Troubleshoot and inspect heavy equipment to determine problems or cause of the malfunction.
- Reviews information obtained from troubleshooting and inspection of inoperative equipment determining the time required to repair defects, parts needed to make repairs, special tools needed to make repairs of if a repair should occur at a shop facility.
- Regularly remove, repairs, or replaces components on engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air systems, fuel systems, transmissions, and other power train related systems.
- Field tests heavy equipment after repairs are completed confirming the quality of repairs and machine is ready to be placed back onto production.
- Work with hand wrenches, hammers, impact tools, torque wrenches, screwdrivers, basic measuring tools, overhead hoists, slings and chains, electrical testing tools, hydraulic testing tools, and numerous other adjusting tools.
- Accurately and timely submit work orders, fuel reports, parts requisitions, meter readings and timesheets to the office.
- Travel to and from job sites in the company trade area.
- Must pass pre-employment drug and fitness tests prior to employment.
