Position Summary

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Sorter Operator will be responsible for operating the Sorters, and the lab.

The ideal candidate will need to be dependable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. We are looking for a skilled operator to set up, maintain and operate machinery. On-the-job training is an effective way to discover how to do the job better, so this candidate should have a willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close cooperation with co-workers.


Position Responsibilities

• See that all equipment is safely used and maintained.
• Always ensure and maintain adequate levels of product in sorter bins and instruct the Shift Supervisor of any insufficient levels.
• Ensure that all equipment is maintained, working, and used properly.
• Know how to operate and maintain sorters so that the sorters operate at maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
• Understand the total lab operation.
• Test samples as required, and report results directly to the Shift Superintendent.
• All employees are solely responsible for the Quality of Olam Edible Nuts products. Each employee must perform their job function in accordance with the GMP Rules, Sanitation, and the Quality & Food Safety Programs.

• Must follow safe work practices and comply with all company, federal and state rules and regulations which apply to job, including but not limited to, right to Know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space, blood borne pathogens, and lockout/tagout.
• Keep the Shift Superintendent fully informed of all problems with recommended solutions for those problems.

• Always maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Assist in keeping bins, elevators, and catch-out area clean.
• Keep all areas assigned to you on the sanitation schedule maintained.
• Execute special projects and other job-related activities as directed.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of Experience in a food production environment is preferred but not required.
• This role is performed on site at a facility that regularly processes peanuts Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air.
